With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
We were in California, finishing a week long tour of the west coast in anticipation of our "Dig Your Roots" Album releasing March 13, 2020. Our last show was canceled and we headed home on March 15th.
How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
It affected everything greatly, but we found a new way to promote the album, through online, interactive Q and A's and some "One and Done" covers we released to keep engaged with our fans. It was actually a very creative time, thinking fo new ways to stay connected with each other.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?
We have had times when we are out and touring again--we were lucky enough to get back to it in June of 2021, though it was a bit bumpy of a ride here and there. I think most of all, we are extremely grateful for what we do now. We've written a lot, and found value in our time spent watching media differently--anything from movies to tv shows have helped in our creativity and approach to what we do. Iy's actually been a time of immense growth for us.
How are dealing with the Covid fifth wave? Have things locked down again in your region? Have you had to cancel gigs, tours, etc.? Are things reopening & restrictions are lifting in your region? Have you booked any new gigs, tours, etc.? What are your plans for 2022?
Actually, we typically spend most of the winter writing and rehearsing rather than playing, unless we have an album or single to promote. We find it really is a good time for us to reconnect with what we have to say. A cocooning time for sure. Starting in March. we will be touring again.
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
Stay strong. Always be free to try new things. And go put on your favorite vinyl record, and remember why you love music so much.
