CBC Music's Interactive Map!

Just when we were all at the breaking point, missing live music so bloody much CBC Music created this absolutely incredible interactive map! I know it’s not the same thing, but nothing about the last 14 months has come even close to the feeling we all get when you’re at a venue, live, in real life, and your favourite band walks on the stage! I’m calling it my #staycation and I’m visiting each of these 50 venues, from coast to coast to coast from my living room tonight, and of course blasting some of Canada’s most iconic artists!

Of course, these are only a fraction of the countless concert venues across Canada that enrich our lives. What's your favourite local music venue?

@cbc_music Efforts to pivot and move live music online have been admirable, but nothing will ever replace the magical, shared experience of attending a show in a cozy café, bar, theatre or recital hall.

For music-lovers and music-makers, the return to normal can’t come soon enough.

So, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Juno Awards, we’re celebrating 50 live music venues that are the heart and soul of Canadian music, as chosen by Juno winners and nominees, past and present.

These spots have helped put their towns and cities on the map, and now we’re doing the same thing — literally.
