With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

We were working on several recording/songwriting projects including collaborating with other artists. Fortunately, because of the internet, we have been able to continue with those activities without interruption. We feel very lucky to be still doing what we love to do given the devastating effects the pandemic has had on so many people's livelihoods.

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

Because of Martha's health issues with Parkinson's Disease, live performing is no longer available to us so touring is not an option. However, we remain very active as recording artists. We have a compilation album coming out November 5th called 'Marthology - In And Outtakes' which is a collection of unreleased/limited release/unheard songs and demos spanning over 35 years of material. That will be followed by a Martha and the Muffins album of new material in 2022 as well as Mark's solo album, 'Garden Music', based on common plant names. There are several side projects in the works as well.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

Lol we don't have any free time! However, family time is very important. Martha usually boxes several times a week through Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinsons. We go for walks which is always beneficial and Mark is an avid gardener.

As things are reopening & restrictions are lifting have you booked any new gigs? Tours? Etc? If your region is still under restriction, how are dealing with the Covid third wave?

We have to look beyond our own immediate region or country and see ourselves as global citizens. As all of us are dealing with a worldwide pandemic, we have to work together using common sense and science to get through this. That includes providing whatever aid is necessary to those areas of the world that don't yet have the vaccines and other support they need. Until that happens, the pandemic will continue to plague us.

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

Thanks for listening and hoping for better days to come for all of us.
