With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

I was on tour across BC, SB and SK promoting my latest single, Pandora which was released on 13th March. I was booked to play a number of festivals too, which was going to be my first year as 0Stella playing large festivals like Edmonton Folk Fest, etc. I've been getting cross Canada and UK radio play in community, college and some commercial radio. I was getting ready to tour eastern Canada again (I was there 3 times last year) and a second tour of UK and Ireland with a debut tour planned for Benalux

How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

I've scrapped all touring plans both national and international. I've pivoted to learning to produce for myself and I have been focusing on learning video editing to generate my own content and music videos, planning a remix of my first single Fire. Fire has been licensed by a local writer to use in her promotion video of her debut novel due out this summer. I am writing material for my debut LP and in the meantime have written a second EP

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?

Songwriting, making a mini-series of a travel vlog parody, writing and recording a new EP, pitching to TV and film, building my network of co-writers, releasing self-made music videos, engaging fans to contribute to a fan video of my latest release, 'Pandora', writing grants and planning the recording of my LP, due out in 2021.

What was the first thing you did/place you went to now the country is starting to slowly re-open?

I went to The Carrot which is down the road from my house to check in with my neighbourhood artists. Missed that place! I bumped into the organizers of Kaleido Fest sitting outside and got booked on the festival again for this year.

Favourite Starlite Room Moment?

New Year’s Eve 2019 (I think) Klusterfunk. I lost an earring I was head- banging so hard to their set and later I got pulled up onto stage with them. So much fun!

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

Thank you to everyone who donated, tuned in to livestreams and sent sweet notes of encouragement throughout lockdown. It was hard on everyone and I'm touched you took the time to support me. Wear your masks and I'll see you at a live event so very very soon. Don't lose heart! You can't keep crafty musicians down for long, music will always find a way to innovate and proceed, regardless of the obstacles
