With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
We all reside here in Newmarket, and work full time, Monday to Friday jobs/school. We’ve all been laid off, and Niall just finished his schooling for the year online. We would practice every Friday evening before the pandemic, but obviously due to the circumstances, have had to put a temporary halt to that for the time being.
How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
We actually had our biggest shows to date coming up, opening for Cancer Bats, Strung Out & DOA, which have all been postponed/canceled. We’re really stoked to play the rescheduled dates & are excited to see people back out at shows, having a good time again. We also have some new demos nearly done, that just need vocals recorded. We’ll finish that when all of this is said and done.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?
We all are quarantined, so we’re all trying to make best of a shitty situation. I (Andrew) have been writing a ton of lyrical content as well as trying my hand at cooking new recipes. Niall and Chris have been writing new material like mad men. It seems we have new material every couple of days, so the silver lining to all of this, is we will probably have a new album sooner than we expected.
Favourite quarantine meal?
I think collectively, we as a band would have to go with Pizza Pockets
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
Support your local punk scene! So many great bands and friends of ours could use any support during this time. It could be anything from buying merch to just checking out a new band and telling your pals. You wouldn’t believe how far it goes.
