With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
Thankfully all members of Misery Signals were home safe when everything went down. We didn't have to deal with travelling home, self-isolation/quarantine like many of our friends on tour at the time had to do.
How has that affected your plans for the coming months? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
Unfortunately, this has put all of our touring plans for 2020 on hold. We've been forced to reschedule spring/summer tours for the fall/winter later this year. At this time, we're still unsure if the rescheduled dates will happen as planned.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home?
Writing music, watching Netflix, afternoon walks, at-home workouts, baking, reading, and most importantly planning the release of our upcoming new album.
Favourite quarantine meal?
Home-made pizza!
Favourite Starlite Room Moment?
Hmmm, that’s a tough one. Edmonton has been home to Misery Signals our entire career as a band A lot of our home- town performances have been at the Starlite Room. There was a show in 2005-ish in which we co-headlined with legendary Edmonton punk band SNFU. That was a pretty memorable gig. Personally, I've seen so many amazing shows in that room, it's hard to pick just one. It's one of my favourite venues in the entire world.
Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. It's not often that we're truly all in this together, so please do your part to help curb this pandemic. As we all know, the sooner that happens the sooner we can get back to normal and the sooner we can get back to seeing kick-ass shows at The Starlite Room!
