With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
I was in central Pennsylvania having dinner with my partner for her birthday when everything closed down. The restaurant even closed right after we were finished eating. She couldn't go back to New York due to the travel restrictions and we ended up basically living in a Ramada hotel for ten days until we figured out where we could go for the time being, and eventually got an apartment here. It was a CRAZY time.
How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
Of course it has, as it did with everyone in the entertainment industry. It made me have to focus a lot more on the digital world which I am not a huge fan of, but it also allowed me plenty of time to create. My album Yelling in a Quiet Neighborhood would have probably been released earlier and we would have been shopping for tours, but instead it will go down as the album I never really got to tour. That is why I am excited for my new album "Everyone I Know Will Die." We should in theory be able to TOUR IT!
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?
Just a lot of content creation and writing, and I've been stretching, running, and meditating a lot.
How are dealing with the Covid fifth wave? Have things locked down again in your region? Have you had to cancel gigs, tours, etc.? Are things reopening & restrictions are lifting in your region? Have you booked any new gigs, tours, etc.? What are your plans for 2022?
I actually toured with The Spill Canvas in November of 2021, and it was a great tour. Every place has its own restrictions and we were just respectful of that. I am hoping to have another tour or two in 2022!
